Pregnancy is a happy and most awaited time in every couple’s life.  After watching those two pink lines and dreaming your life will be surrounded by an angel but with so many questions popping in your mind that how is your baby now , when the baby will start kicking , how much calories or what vitamin supplement I need, Here is the stuff to know what’s going inside your womb.

WEEK 3 :

At this time you don’t know you are pregnant but congratulations the sperm have met the egg on your ovulation day and baby’s gender is also decided this early No physical changes will be observed but the hormonal changes gonna leave big impact for next nine months. Your progesterone level will start rising and so HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin ) levels which will detect on the stripe that you are pregnant

BABY:

Your cute little tiny baby is known as blastocyst now. This blastocyst is two layered the outer layer (trophoblast) will become placenta and the inner layer will subsequently become embryo in next week

What To Do ?

If you were trying to conceive your doctor might have prescribed you daily dose of 400mg of folic acid. Just take your prenatal vitamins relax and sit back because too much stress can drain your brain and body which can affect your hormones.

WEEK 4 :

By the the start of this week  you may have light cramping or spotting, mood swings, don’t worry if you don’t have these symptoms every woman’s body is different may be you don’t feel any change just the same feelings like few days before your periods but your hormones are actual getting high to support your pregnancy.

BABY:

From travelling to fallopian tube your baby is now attach to lining of your uterus where it will reach to further development, the placenta must have start growing till now.

What To Do ?

Most doctors suggest hormone tablets to protect the pregnancy carry on with those tablets because still you might not be sure of your pregnancy and Continue your intake of folic acid too because it prevents the neural tube defects like spina bifida and anencephaly.

WEEK 5 :

The nauseous feelings will start getting high by now you have probably realized that you have missed your period go and check. your HCG levels are enough to confirm your pregnancy tell your partner enjoy the moment and try to cope with the environment because at this time hormonal changes may affect your  sense of smell,

BABY:

Your baby will the size of apple seed and looks like a tiny tadpole and is divided into three layers to develop into a healthy baby.

What To Do?

After knowing you are pregnant, ask for an appointment to your doctor it’s good to keep in touch with your doctor from start of your pregnancy to reduce the chance of miscarriage, Your doctor will let you know the due date, hurray just 8 more months to go.

WEEK 6:

You have not gone so far yet so your condition will remain same or may be the fatigue level may increase you may feel more lazy don’t stop doing your regular work or exercise just refrain from lifting heavy weights your belly may not show the signs of pregnancy but inside huge changes are going on.

BABY:

Your baby is size of lentil and is growing very fast his little eyes nose are getting in shape tiny little buds for  hands are also formed soon you will able to hold them.

What To Do ?

Start taking your vitamins , avoid smoking and alcohol it’s dangerous for you and your baby, if your beta HCG is not confirmed yet the doctor might ask for an ultrasound fetal pole is clearly seen at this stage if not seen don’t panic you should wait for 1 or 2 week more.

WEEK 7:

By this time you must have put on little weight, mild cramping are common but if you notice any discharge contact you gynae or ob , till now the symptoms of nausea will get more hard and it will continue till 12 week or 16 week. Take proper sleep to avoid drowsiness and headache. You might feel physically and emotionally better.

BABY:

Your baby is size of blueberry, his tiny hand buds are webbed now soon he will be able to move them the body is in c shape with tiny tail which eventually start getting proper in few weeks. Eyes nose and lips are forming better shape to make it look like more human.

What To Do?

Start taking pills on doctor’s advice for nausea so that you can eat properly. Increase your intake for food that contain good amount of folic acid. Tell doctor about your previous health conditions because in pregnancy few disease come back or you may feel better.

WEEK 8:

You might notice slight broadness in your waistline. Cravings for certain food is common try eating healthy food, you must take extra 300 calories for healthy pregnancy, you must notice the difference between morning sickness and fever because fever can harm your baby.

BABY:

The embryo will known as fetus by 8 weeks . he is size of raspberry now. The little tail is vanished now and the body will get straight he is more like newborn baby now, brain activities starts and internal organs like lungs , stomach , liver , intestine are developing rapidly.

What To Do?

Exercise is the best option to kick back your drowsiness, it’s understood 7 months are too long to wait but don’t worry you can go to parlor or spa have your haircut or manicure pedicure done but don’t go for hair dyes or any other procedures that includes chemicals because the smell is too hard to get over.

WEEK 9:

Hi mommy! You might not look pregnant from your belly side but your waistline is saying too much your shirts are getting tighter try wearing loose and stretchable shirts and tights or trousers. The good thing is your blood volume is increasing to support your pregnancy this may lead to mild oozing of blood from your nose but don’t panic it’s common. You will oftenly short of breath because of increased blood levels but this is the good reason and will help you out to recover the blood loss of childbirth.

BABY:

Your baby is now a size of cherry his head is larger than rest of his body and his eyes are fully formed but are fused through eyelids and will be shut till 27th week. The baby heart is also completely divided into four chambers. The placenta is more developed now to meet the nourishment requirements. His tiny eyes nose and it’s nostrils, lips and ears are quite visible.

What To Do?

Connect with your friends who are going to be mum or to those who are experienced mommies . You can share your problems and experience with them. Keep doing your routine works and don’t forget to take your supplements. Include high fibre diet like fruits, vegetables and oatmeals to avoid constipation.

WEEK 10:

The bump is likely to be noticed if you see you body in front of mirror this is a good sign your baby is growing and hormones are working properly if you notice any discharge or bleeding from vagina it may be alarming sign because vaginal bleeding is a signal for ectopic pregnancy or  miscarriage.

BABY:

The baby is about the size of strawberry, his sexual organs are developing but won’t be shown outside the body till few weeks his tiny fingers and toes are formed with nails on it. His bones and cartilages are also beginning to form and legs will be getting more longer the baby can stretch it well.

What To Do?

Go for shopping for yourself and baby too, Buy maternity bras to avoid stifling in tight bras this could be a good outing and stress relief therapy. Try to find out the hospital where you want to deliver your baby within your budget. If you have an appointment from your doctor you can hear the heartbeat of your baby through instrument called doppler stethoscope.

WEEK 11:

Your uterus is grown up now to cross your pelvis . If you feel hungry it’s a good sign your morning sickness is getting away you would feel a bit relaxed as you are moving towards your second trimester your food likings can give you a increased weight but it’s ok keep yourself hydrated because as the baby will grow you would need more water in your body to refrain from oligohydramnios.

BABY:

The baby is now the size of lime, he is growing quickly, if you can peek inside your womb you can see how gradually his reproductive organs are developing outside the body, his ears are getting aside near head  to fit at the right side. The skin will look bit fleshy now soon it will be covered by other layers of skin.

What To Do?

Take your supplements of folic acid and vitamin D it’s essential for your body, discuss with your partners how you going to manage everything after the arrival of baby let him know about the progress of baby.

WEEK 12:

This week your uterus will grow more and give pressure to your bladder this can take your body to frequent urination and the blood volume will also increase this week your first trimester will be over, HURRAY you have achieved the 1st milestone.

BABY:

Your baby is now a size of plum his hands and legs are moving but you can’t feel it now your baby’s main organs and body parts are completed now he will put weight and grow larger..

What To Do?

This week your doctor will ask you for scan to check the heartbeat and movement, if haven’t visited your doctor so long schedule an appointment with her, plan for the remaining house works when to complete it because in next few weeks you won’t be able to do extra work with this belly.

  1. Great post Hira! Very informative to newly pregnant women. I will say that my first sign of pregnancy was tender breasts. This occurred like 3 days after conception. Can you believe it? That quickly! I was super tired my entire pregnancy. I napped every day, it was difficult to function.
